| Backpackers Paradise has a budget shuttle that depart daily from the hostel to transport travellers to the local attractions. ALL OUR GUESTS QUALIFY FOR AN EXCLUSIVE PARADISE DISCOUNT TO THE ATTRACTIONS.
Joyrides depart at 8:30am daily. Joyrides starts by bus from the hostel to the top of the Swartberg Pass (1584m above sea level) and you cycle back to Paradise from there. You visit the world famous Cango Caves, Camel farm, Tea Garden for lunch and a swim, Ostrich Farm (ride an ostrich), Wildlife ranch (stroke a cheetah or tiger cub) and back to the hostel for an ice cold beer or swim. This full day trip costs R150 pp including transport and bike rental.
Another very popular activity is the Water skiing day trip – at R350pp (min of 4) – the cost includes lunch and drinks.
We help you organise the following:
Wine tasting, fishing, golf, microlighting (only R250 per half hour!!), hot air ballooning, abseiling and rock climbing, hiking and waterfall kloofing, quad biking on a game farm, or quad biking on the Swartberg pass, basically anything you wanna do, we organise, cause personal attention is what we do! |
Ostrich Farm

Visit the Ostrich Farm while on your cycle trip in the area or by Paradise Bus. You will have the opportunity to:
Hug and Ostrich... Ride an Ostrich... Feed an Ostrich.

Wildlife Ranch

Another of the stops along the cycle trip route (or bus route) is at the Wildlife Ranch where you can get 'up close and personal' with cheetahs and tigers!! The Wildlife Ranch takes in volunteers for working with the animals - they have a cheetah and tiger breeding programme going, and really do great work. The tour is nothing like a safari experience, you really get up close with the animals.

Water-Skiing

This fabulous daytrip out in the Karoo Sun is not to be missed. We only take 4 people at a time. This allows the novices to try out waterskiing and to fall in love with it and it allows the experienced waterskiing travellers to enjoy the day on the water. This daytrip including transport, lunch, drinks and equipment - costs R350pp.

Choose our great cycle trip starts you cycling on the top of the Swartberg Pass and free-wheel down the mountain side while enjoying some amazing scenery! This full day activity starts at the hostel at 08H30 daily. This is a very do able trip and you don't need to be a fitness junky to complete it! On your way back to the hostel you stop over at the Cango Caves, the Ostrich Farm, the Tea Garden for a swim and lunch, stopover at the Wildlife Ranch, and back to the hostel for a swim or an ice cold beer. All in one day out in the sunshine of the Little karoo - in your own time and at your own pace!
